Assignments include colloquium reports for an honorific scientific association, 90-second radio features on topics related to microbiology, and feature articles for an organic gardening magazine.

2002-2003 Environmental Analyst Fuss & O'Neill Consulting Engineers, Manchester, Connecticut
Conducted ecological risk assessments for municipal and corporate clients. Presented seminars about the ecological impacts of chemical hazards to scientists and nonscientists. Wrote detailed reports, habitat assessments, proposals, and sampling and analysis plans.

Summer 2001 Scientific Writing Fellow - On-Air Science Reporter, The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
The AAAS Mass Media Fellowship Program is designed to refine the scientific communications skills of young scientists by placing successful applicants in ten-week fellowships in mass media outlets around the country. I worked as an on-air science reporter for WOSU, a National Public Radio station in Columbus, Ohio, where I pitched, investigated, wrote, and produced numerous science-related stories for broadcast.
